Wiley's Flies was founded by Vince Wilcox in 2003, at that time it was just a website and on-line store. Vince moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado in 1995 and over the next 12+ years logged over 1,500 days on the water along the Colorado Front Range with a rod in his hand and tens of thousands of hours experience on the water and prefecting his flies at the vise. After a few seasons working at and helping run a couple of different fly shops in Loveland and Ft. Collins, CO he returned to the Adirondacks in February 2007 to open a new storefront in the shadows of the towering white pines in beautiful Rainbow Lake, NY. Wiley's Flies continues to grow and has by far the best selection of fly tying materials, tools and vises and the biggest and best fly selection in the Adirondacks with over 800 flies to choose from! The most diverse outfitter and guide services in the northern Adirondacks. If you are in the area it is worth the drive over to check us out. Anglers and tiers come from all around, some over two hours from Saratoga, Montreal, Ontario, Malone, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Canton, Massena, Lake Placid, Wilmington, Jay Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Tupper Lake and the surrounding areas to Wiley's Flies for the selection and knowledge. Vince Wilcox’s has been a Signature tier for Idylwilde Flies since 2004 and has had over 30 patterns tied and sold commercially around North America. As a production fly tier he has tied hundreds of thousands of flies and when he’s not busy writing, running his on-line store and tying flies, he is guiding in Colorado, Wyoming and primarily on his northern Adirondack streams.
