Yummy T.N.T.
Wiley's Flies is owned and operated by world renown fly tier and author Vince Wilcox. Located in the heart of the Adirondacks in Rainbow Lake, NY just minutes from Lake Placid. Wiley's Flies if the most diverse outfitter for guided fishing in the Adirondacks. While we do offer guided trips on the Ausable River we pride ourselves on having intimate knowledge of a host of other area rivers including the Chateaugay, Chazy, Salmon, St. Regis and Saranac River that see less pressure and offer excellent opportunities for fishing. At Wiley's Flies we believe in creating the best experience possible for the angler, by utilizing the wide array of fishing opportunities available we can make your day one to remember. Whether you are looking for an afternoon out on the renown Ausable River or searching for solitude in one of our fantastic little Brookie waters or perhaps you are after three foot long predators like Pike and Musky? We will tailor a trip just for you, in addition to stream fishing for trout species we also offer guided Landlock, Bass, Pike  and Musky fishing trips via wade angling, river floats or pontoon trips up the Saranac chain of lakes for up to 10 people. We also run trips on the Farmington, Housatonic, Battenkill and Deerfield Rivers float or wade depending on flows.Drifting the river in one of our Scadden rafts gives you the opportunity to fish water that no one else can reach and offers a more secluded venture if that's what you are after. Float trip availability for different species and locations depends on river flows and weather conditions.  Ever wanted to learn how to effectively fish lakes and ponds? We also offer first hand instruction on area lakes and ponds on how to locate prime fishing areas and what flies and methods are most effective. Still water trips can be waded in some cases or we also offer pontoon craft trips for our clients that can make a day out on the water a true adventure. For those of you interested in an even more remote experience, back country guided canoe trips to many of the ponds and lakes in pursuit of the Native Brook Trout are also available. (ask for details on overnight trips)

One thing that is certain when you book a trip with Wiley's Flies is that your guide is qualified to lead you on a day of knowledge and fun. The last thing anyone wants to do is take a guided trip with an inexperienced guide that lacks the skills and knowledge to lead them. Our promise to you is that
the guides are top notch instructors, experienced in fishing and tying flies, well obscessed actually! They know the hatches and will instruct you on the proper selection of flies.   The number one goal is to keep you safe while offering you an experience you will not forget. While catching fish is of course always the ultimate goal, we want to ensure you enjoy your trip so let us know if you have any special food or other requests to fulfill your expectations.
Wiley's Flies is fully insured and all of our guides are licensed New York State Guides.
We also offer guided trips out west to Colorado and Wyoming each spring, I spent over a dozen years out there and over 1,500 days on the water so I kind of know my way around. For more information on those trips check out the trip pages in the drop down menu and be sure to take a look at our trip photo albums. The annual western fling typically sells out by the end of October so let us know as soon as possible! The 2012 western fling is SOLD OUT. Join us in 2013!

 Thank you & God bless!

Toothy!
We might even have a little fun out there!

FLOAT TRIP RATES - TROUT - BASS - Musky - NORTHERN PIKE
Rates starting at *$325.00
ALL RATES ARE FOR UP TO (2) ANGLERS/BOAT
We will be fishing out of Dave Scadden Pontoon boats. These boats are equiped with casting decks for the angler to stand on so they can see the water better and deliver better casts. Seeing better and casting better means we catch more fish! Of course they also have comfortable seats when you want to sit and take a break, you know because you have been catching too many fish! In all seriousness we do catch more fish with the aid of our drift boats and of course our goal is to catch more and bigger but at the end of the day these float trips allow us to cover miles of river and get away from the crowds. There is more costs involved because there is more work to do on the water and more preparation than a regular wade trip. If you haven't had the chance to experience this style of fishing take the opportunity to do so and you will forever be a fan of float trips. What other way can you cover every inch of a seven mile stretch and fish water that no one else can?
**All gear is provided in the price and we offer spin or fly fishing on these trips. Since these boats are pontoon drift boats waders and boots are necessary and use is included in the price so we must have you shoe size and general height and weight to ensure the best fit upon your arrival. Full day trips include lunch, drinks and snacks. Four hour trips include snacks and drinks.
***Since we use various river systems for these trips in the area we are able to select the best one for the time of year and water conditions making it the best trip possible.

**There is a $25.00 fuel surcharge if the guides must travel over 25 miles one way.
Gratuities are appreciated :o)

For our back country canoe trips rates along with the overnight rates, please call for details.
